Spiritual Adventure Time!

Spiritual Adventure Time is the best!

When I lived in the Holy Land, a local told me about his spiritual adventure. Mohammad had just become a Christian. He was concerned about whether he’d go to heaven or hell. So, he and a friend decided to have an all-night prayer vigil. “I asked the God,” he told me, “Am I going to the heaven or the hell?”

God showed him a piece of paper and told him to fold the top corner down. Mohammad demonstrated as he told his story.

God said, ‘That represents the church.’ Next, He showed Mohammad to fold the other corner down. Mohammad continued with his example. “That,” God said, “represents the mountain.”

As Mohammad made 2 or 3 more folds, he explained that God had told him that a bird on top of the mountain was going to give him a message. “Then, he said, God told me to cut the paper in half. Some fell to the left and some to the right.”

As Mohammad unfolded the pile on the left, he arranged it on a maroon towel. “In Arabic,” he said, “that spells al naar. It means the fire and that’s what we call hell!”

“But,” God said, “You are not going to hell because of that,” and Mohammad pointed to the paper on the right.

For a moment, he and I looked at each other. We didn’t move. Then he reached for the last bit of paper and unfolded . . . a cross!

As we do life with God together, let’s expect miracles, because “faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see” (Hebrews 11:1, NLT). Right?

Faith is one of your superpowers!
